Visian ICL Vision Correction Procedure
Visian ICL Vision Correction Procedure

Visian, a new type of vision correction surgery, is now available for people who are moderate to severly nearsighted. The difference with Visian is that the correction is accomplished with a lens, much like a regular contact lens that goes inside the eye rather than outside the eye. The Visian Implantable Collamer Lens (ICL) is made of collagen polymer, a natural material with little chance of allergic response.

It is placed between the colored iris and the human lens in a short outpatient procedure. Unlike alternative lens implants available for nearsightedness, the Visian ICL doesn't require attachment to the delicate iris, and no sutures are needed.

While Visian is a newer technology in the U.S., it has been used for many years in Europe and the rest of the world. Numerous patients have benefited from this powerful technology.

If you have been told you are too nearsighted, or that your cornea is not suitable for a LASIK or PRK vision correction procedures, then the Visian ICL may be right for you.
